I know it's open on the Afcad, yet I have NEVER heard ATC direct departing aircaraft to that runway (or arrivals for that matter). in FS2K2 one could fiddle with the length of the runway but I'm not sure if that's possible in fs9 without actually changing the scenery Also, did anyone notice that some AI aircraft go through the hills as they approach Rwy 30. This tends to result in a strange behaviour when they eventually land. Anyone with a clue? Thanx //Mike

Gal פורסם ינואר 26, 2004 דיווח פורסם ינואר 26, 2004 פשוט תכנסו בAfcad לנתב"ג תלחצו דבל קליק על מסלול 26 ואז מצד שמאל יש לכם את האפשרות להפוך את 26 לזמין לנחיתות המראות שניהם או לסגור אותו כנ"ל לגבי כל המסלולים בכל השדות אבל מה שכן אל תעשו שום דבר שאתם לא בטוחים ב100% כי אתם יכולים לשנות דברים רציניים (כמו למשל לשנות את סוג המסלול אורך רוחב וכ'ו)ואחרי הינויים תמיד תשמרו כדי שזה יכנס למשחק. בהצלחה

For some reason FS insists on using 12/30 When you try to close both 12 and 30 for takeoff in an attempt to force AI to depart from 26, FS will just ignore the "closed" flag and send all AI to runway 12 for the takeoff Try to close 30 for landing and no aicraft will land at all...... It seems that FS9 handles dual runways only if they are parallel, FS2k2 afcads were far more flexible in that respect, or am I missing here something......? //Mike

I use my file (you can find it at www.flightsim.com) and I t/o from 30 and 26 depending on winds. Did you try to go on "User defined weather" and change the wind heading to 260? I have no solution for the "low-flying" AI approaches on 30... Best, Alex

For example, KMCO has three (four on 12/25/03) parallel North/South runways with the terminals between the left pair and the right (pair). If an aircraft is parked on the East side of the airport, ATC will direct the traffic to the East runways. Aircraft parked on the West side are directed to the West runways. For landing, ATC directs the AI aircraft to land on the runway closest to their approach path when more than one runway is available for landing. NorthEast/SouthEast use the East runways and NorthWest/SouthWest use the West runways. AFCAD doesn't directly effect this arrangement other than if a Runway would be closed for Takeoffs/Landings. _________________ W. Sieffert " I would add - "also depending on wind". Alex

The guy who is reporting AFCAD problems is called "Mike" . He also writes in English so maybe that's why you assumed it was me and didn't notice his signature. Alex: I'm using an Afcad made by Chanan Epstein(couldn't find yours, BTW) wind 16Kn at exactly 260....aircraft still depart from 30. I'm using 0.51LLBG so I have made a search at Avsim both for LLBG and lawrence but came up only with the file I mentioned, if there's another Afcad for that scenery I'd love to give it a try. Gal: I actually keep my Afcads in several folders. I do this to prevent duplicate entries for the same airport as people tend to use more than one naming convention for their Afcads. So I have a folder for addons and other custom files and other folders where I place stock releases (PAIs, UTs etc). Oh, yes, I do restart after any ammendment... During the beta phase , there was someone who claimed to have suceeded in activating two non-parallel runways by creating a "star" of tiny,closed runways at 5 deg intervals. Thus an array of "parallel" runways is formed (FS accepts 5 deg difference as parallel) where the real ones are left open while the mock "star" is closed for traffic. Sounds neat, yet I'm still to see this implemented. Anyway, I'm still at sq1 as I can't even open 26 for departures.... Thanks again for your help!!! "Mike"
