VAT-Spy was developed by Ross Carlson, author of VRC (Virtual Radar Client), an ATC radar simulator for VATSIM. VAT-Spy was closely modeled after ServInfo, a popular traffic and ATC viewer for multiple online flying networks. VAT-Spy's feature set includes a few new items such as: * Smooth panning and zooming on the world map. * Most fonts and colors on the map are customizable. * Multi-threaded for high performance and responsive interface. * Map bookmarks allow you to save favorite views of the map. In general, the goal for VAT-Spy was to mimic the primary functionality of ServInfo, while providing a more responsive user interface through the use of multi-threading, as well as smooth panning and zooming on the world map. VAT-Spy is a Windows desktop application built on the Microsoft .NET Framework. uvdude פורסם מאי 4, 2008 דיווח פורסם מאי 4, 2008 לא אהבתי. התוכנה היא בדיוק כפי שמוצהר - SI עם יכולות זום וגלילה. שמחת זקנתי. הכפתורים הנגישים של SI למדינות ושדות תעופה חסרים. מעבר לזה לVat-spy אין שום בשורה. לא רואה טעם לעבור אליה כשכולם רגילים כבר לSI.
Etai Charit פורסם מאי 4, 2008 דיווח פורסם מאי 4, 2008 מצד שני, אין כאן שינוי של ממש מהשימוש ב-SI, סה"כ ממשק דומה, אפשרויות דומות, אך לדעתי האישית יותר נוח ונעים בעיניים, נראה פחות מצועצע מ-SI. אני אהבתי.
Izik Bakshi פורסם מאי 5, 2008 מחבר דיווח פורסם מאי 5, 2008 את היתרון של התוכנה הזו נראה בעתיד הלא רחוק, כי את התוכנה סרבר אינפו פשוט הפסיקו לפתח וזה מה שגרם לואטסים לפתח תוכנה משלהם, בה הם יוכלו לעדכן את חברות תעופה חדשות או שינויים במרחבי פיקוח. בסרבר אינפו המצב היה איום ונורא, כל מרחב הוציא לו בנפרד עדכון, וכך נוצר מצב שיש מעל 20 עדכונים למרחבים שונים בסרבר אינפו ועוד לא הזכרנו את העדכונים על חברות תעופה שונות.
