i recently discovered i can swap the Scenery folder in FSX root; with the one from P3D root
i also replaced my main sceney.cfg with the one from P3D
 FSX loaded, no edits and no issues so far

Thanks for sharing, can you please tell the uneducated ones like me what is P3D, and what does this switch do? And of course, what's your opinion after the switch?

im still playing around with this concept
the first step, update's default world scenery aka base scenery
...this includes updated default terrain mesh, roads, airport etc

i have to say, this is experimental
target audience are advance users
maybe we can all cooperate and figure out a hybrid version of FSX
which includes P3D updates merged into default FSX
sort of best of both worlds

i actually own a P3D lic now thanks to a dude named Michael Avni

i liked P3D so much,  from the first minute i loaded it

it felt like home, just an upgraded one

 

 

i was having a texture problem with particular scenery, which once loaded to P3D disappeared

i wanted to isolate the issue and started by testing if it had something to do with the base scenery by swapping the two
