Well, I have it and my initial evaluation is that it is not worth it at this point.

The textures are certainly better than the default FSX textures. However, they missed the mark on the desert areas completely. The desert areas are all way to green and the textures in some areas look actually worse than the default. Additionally, the impact on object placement seems to be significant (Palm Springs lost all of the windmills, several buildings misplaced across road, on golf courses, etc.). These items were not misplaced/missing before installation of Global.

I am certain the Orbx folks will sort it out, but, at this point not a recommended buy in my opinion.

But FTXG, as I understand it, contains texture replacement only, not landclass! So how should it effect, or cause,the misrepresentation of deserts or misplacements of objects??

that's because they added landclass

they clearly state landclass for Asia region; which Israel is part of
