FISD Remote Controlled Scenery (RCS) technology gives ATCOs a possibility to control the scenery appearance over the Internet. The RCS system will be piloted in the new version of Helsinki-Vantaa (EFHK) scenery that features remote controlled aerodrome lighting. EFHK_V_TWR will switch off the stop-bar lights with line-up clearance and inactive runways remain unlighted to give a better view for visual approaches. In case of bad weather, 100% high intensity lights will help the pilots to see the runway - and the lights will be dimmed on pilots' request to avoid glare! The new scenery will be available for download on Wednesday, 15 June 2005. The first time when VATSIM pilots will be able to experience the professional and innovative RCS system, is No Delay 2005 Fly-in on Thursday 16 June 2005 at 1500-0000 UTC. Helsinki-Vantaa airport will be fully staffed during the event in VATSIM. For extra specality, air traffic control service will be provided at CAVOK 2005 virtual-aviation live meeting at Jהmijהrvi, Finland where all the air traffic controller staff gathers to ensure the safe and realistic night for the pilots. The event location features two full tower positions, three professional radar positions and extra positions for Ground and Delivery controllers as well as ATC assistants. All positions will be equipped with many accessiories including flight strip printers, traffic coordination software and weather screens. The tower positions feature also a full visual view.
