  1. Better yet, get all their impressive sceneries at their own website: http://www.isdproject.com/

    I have a feeling

I have a feeling that Microsoft did not decide to name MSFS 10 and MSFS X just by chance. Maybe this is a sign that they intend to port it to the new X-BOX? I agree that it is impossible to fly a Boeing without a keyboard (or cockpit ), but don't forget that the intended audience for X-Box are not guys like us. X-Box users will be looking at aerobatics and maybe some dogfight. If we consider that the graphics engine on the X-Box is way more advanced than on regular PCs (at a very low price). I can bet that if FS ever makes its way to X-Box there will be enough cracks and hacks to have the full MSFS, unleash the full power of X-Box and at that price, to have amazing multi-view at $200 per video channel. Isn't this a great dream??
  3. Congratulations! Looking forward to "flying" over your creations.
  4. No, of course not :-) But I guess that Ilan will explin everything over the MSN .
  5. That's because we have a special filter to keep you out - LOL! Now seriously - that happense maybe because you made a mistake in the email field. I shouldn't worry though since Ilan must have gotten your registration and already taken care of it. See you then.
  6. This was on the www.simflight.com news earlier today: "Microsoft just sent out a press release telling us that they will be announcing news on the next version of Flight Simulator (internally known as FSX). As we already suspected, the article in PCGamer was premature and incorrect, reason why we did not mention it in the news. Expect more news to surface after New Years Day..... we'll keep you posted of course" Can't wait!
  7. Sorry - must have been the lack of Oxygen at FL450 - :drinking:
  8. Stupid question: is it still called "radio telephone"????? What's going on? Are we still in the 19th century? LOL. BTW, are they still insisting on doing CW (Morse code) tests or they noticed that we are living in the Internet age already?
  9. "Lo hidnagdut ve lo gorefet". It is only suitable to have this under the VATIL name and have everybody who is interested in flying into Israel get a nice installer with all the files, etc. I don't know how to prepare such a file so if VATIL will officially decide on someone who knows how to prepare it, I don't believe that there is one Israeli freeware scenery developer who will say "no". Furthermore, I suggest we do it very professionally, maybe include several real pictures from Israel as a presentation that would run during the installation process and promote our country even more. I know that we have some very talented members in our community and I hope that they will contribute to this project. At least there is some good coming out of this sad episode.
  10. Naaah! Too much effort and he's not worth it. Enough that the file server owners have an open eye on him :-). Maybe he is just a pimpled kid who does not know English. Why traumatize him at this early age?
  11. Hi guys, Now several answers: Ido: I do have the entire file - I d/l just before it was removed and I have checked it before rushing in. The guy is SO STUPID that he left over several readme and instruction files from David, myself and I believe one from Seev too. The one from David R is the most obvious, maybe that's why the guys from FSPLANET thought it was David's. Now for the biggest show of stupidity from this guy: he doubled the size of the filles by installing the BMP files both in the FS/Texture etc. AND local directory - that means that the fu...g file shouild have been HALF its current size. He also used David's OLD Eilat. Another clarification: this guy copied ALL Israeli sceneries - Israel CVFR, etc. - lumped them together, zipped them and posted them on the net, not before removing the relevant copyright notices and original readme files. He forgot some of these because the sheer number fo files he had to manage and he left the trail of the original authors. Then he wrote his own readme implying that he is the author. SO he not only stole from David, Seev, etc. but also from ALL the other freeware authors whose names I do not remember due to my advanced age . By removing the copyright files this guy just proved that he actually KNEW that what he was doing is illegal and tried to cover his tail - and reap some "glory". David: Here are the replies: FSPLANET: ==================== Dear Alex, Thanks for your email. We will proceed with file removal just in a few minutes. Also we will try to investigate the uploader's IP number in our server's LOG. Note that the file has been distributed in other websites such as flightsim.com and others. Thank you. XXXXXXXXX ===================== FLIGHTSIM.COM ===================== Hi Alexander... I'm sorry to hear about the problem. I have removed the file. Always glad to help, Alex. Don't hesitate to contact me if you ever need anything. XXXXXXXXXXX ===================== As I said, these guys reacted as soon as they got my email and the file was off the air in a few minutes :-) Now to "who this is this guy": It turns out that KJ has already posted several HUGE files on flightsim.com. By the love of God, he posted a file 400,000MB worth! Maybe he asked for permission and maybe the authors didn't pursue him like we did, but the fact is that this guy's "creations" are simple (and stupid) compilations of others' works. Keep up the night watch :-) Ilan: many thanks for the words of support. You noticed already that I just "love" this kind of guys - just as much as some of the irresponsible and uneducated posters here who shoot before they think and by doing so, do a disservice to the freeware developers and end-users. One last thing: I have KJ's email - it is a hotmail account which just suits a person who would like to hide his identity - but still, if anybody feels the urge to give him a piece of one's self, just ask for in on the PM ;-)
  12. I quite don't understand this statement. Have you read ALL the posts at all?
  13. Hi guys - again, Just to let you know - I got replies frpm flightsim.com and fsplanet - they both will remove the file in a few minutes and start to investigate the issue. They responded 1 minute after I sent the emails :-) I will hunt this guy at AVSIM (he hasn't posted it there yet) and see where he raises his head. FYI, I had a chat with Seev and it turns out that another guy did exactly the same with his sceneries BUT he asked first and he got the permission. What makes us MAD is the Chutzpah of just taking the files, compiling them and posting them under his name without ANY consideration for other's work and rights. David, thank's for the heads-up :-)
  14. החוק מאפשר לו לעשות את זה אתה יכול לקחת כמה דברעים חינמים להפוך אותם לקובץ התקנה פשוט ולידרוש כסף You are dead wrong my friend. Any freeware material is copyrighted and nobody is allowed to do anything with it without its author's permission. I don't have teh time or inclinnation to educate (again) people here about what copyright means and how and why it is protected so don;t even start a long thread about it - go and see a lawyer. Just to make things clear - my work (and I imagine other's too) has a statement saying EXACTLY this: that we do not accept that our work be used in this (and other) ways. The fact that he did it anyway, is a breach and he can be sued. So don't be a smart-ass and say things that you obviously don't have a clue of. Can you see I am pissed?
  15. Hi again, I have detected the files that he used for the scenery. He copied TLV photoreal, Haifa and LLHA and I suspect also Seev's etc. works. I have taken a step and written the following to the relevant sitres. You are all invited to do the same: =================================== Dear Sir/Madam, Please be advised that recently you have accepted the upload of copyrighted material. The file in question is called "israel_scen.zip" worth 119,229KB and was uploaded by one "Kalon Jeffries" . That file is acompilation of several authors' copyrighted freeware works (which you also host them). This pirated compilation has been performed without anybody's knowledge and permission and it represents a bl;atant breach of the express copyright statements attached to the original sceneries. The "israel_scen.zip" specifically breaches the rights of three specific sceneries (mentioned below) which are my copyright, and in addition the works of Seev Kahan, etc. Therefore, I kindly request you to REMOVE the above file from your library ASAP and notify the author of his breach of Internatiuonal Copyright Law. Please be advised that although we are discussing freeware material we are determined to pursue any person, group or company using it without its author's prior, written and express agreement. Please let me know when you removed the file. ===================================
  16. Hi Guys, Has anyone d/l that scenery? If yes, then can you email me the read/me & credits file please? If that guy gives us credit then we do not need to prove anything to screw him. First, all the authors should write to www.flightsim.com (the scenery is there too) and the www.fsplanet.com and request immediate removal of the scenery based on copyright infringement. If they don't do it then we go public and announce that they distributed stolen software. Based on previous experience, www.slightsim.com will remove it immediately and so will do AVSIM. Fsplanet has been in the poast involved in copyright charges and I imagine they will not enjoy being in that spot again. After that, we send a "friendly" email to Kalon J. and ask him to stop and aplologize publicly. If not, we (I) will smear him publicly until he won;t post anything (or change alias). IF this guy has stolen without opr express prior agreement then he is stealing - pure and simple. Alex

    x-plane

Hi Opher, I think that we agree although it does not seem so from the posting. You refer more to the feeling of flight and behaviour of the aircraft. I have no claims here - the thing is way better than MSFS and more accurate for teh simple reason that it seems to approach the issue from the real-time modelling and not using "tables". We agree here. My rebuttal to X-plane claims refer to other points. While it is true how X-pane has begun its way, it is more important important into what it has transformed. And although for 99% of us it is really not realistic to design a plane, there are claims by its author that it is possible to build an aircraft and test it with X-plane - comparing it with a wind tunnel which is nothing far from the truth... I am sorry. There are many important and critical shortcuts made in X-plane which make these claims invalid, and of course irrelevant to the glorious beginnings at NASA. Don't forget that AFTER leaving NASA, NASA has no control over its "quality" etc. anymore so that label of quality is simply not valid anymore. And again, regardless - X-Plane is light-years ahead of MSFS in all that is relevant to the flight model and behaviour. If I were the author, I would be pleased with this claim alone and wouldn't recourse to marketing exaggerations ;-) This fact can place a shadow of doubt on other, less measurable claims... Best regards, Alex
  18. Didn't notice - maybe because I didn't see the "VATSIM" keyword... I looked for previous postings however in the NOTAMS and ATC forums and since I didn;t see any, I thought it was safe to post it here . One cannot be too careful

  20. This is a WILD guess - is it by any chance... Israel????

    x-plane

Sorry to spoil the party, but x-plane's flight accuracy is NOT exactly what its developer wants us to believe. X-plane is better than MSFS, no doubt about that - but it is VERY FAR from the claims that you can build an aircraft and it will behave realistically just because everything is modelled accurately. This is pure BS and believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I will leave it at this and not continue the argument or answer to any challenge, but I challenge you to really delve deeper into airplanes design issues (a BSc in Aeronautics won't hurt either) and you'll understand why x-plane's claim to be a virtual wind tunnel where anything that you build will behave accurately is not true to say the least. X-Plane is very nice sim, better than FS in the aeronautical sense but it is FAR from the broad claims of its author.
  22. Indeed great charts! I have the full Jeppesen high and low charts but Capt/ Gerd Puppel's charts are easier to use for "standard" (airline) planning since they readily show the main routes usually followed by airlines, without the "noise" of additional information present in the standard Jeppsen charts. I would also recommend these charts to beginners, The standard Jeppsen charts are "cluttered" with so much (useful) information that they might intimidate newcommers to flight planning. This is a great link! Thanks.
  23. חחח אלכס אתה מכיר אותו?! לבן אדם הזה יש יותר ש.ט משאנחנו יכולים לדמיין! Yes. Courtesy of Alon Smolarsky. We use to fly from Meggido once in a while, and we get to meet The Jabba himself. I always thought he looked just like "The Hut" sitting untidy in his lair, hardly moving around, with his Army "dubon". He's always fun to meet. But he is a real snake - don't underestimate him .
  24. Yes, but where is Menechemia AKA "Jabba the Hut"???
  25. Excellent innitiative. The more open and welcoming we are, the better. I must add that Mr. Okamura mentions that despite the fact that Israeli ATC is in Hebrew, it immediately (and happily) switches to English each time it detect a guest from abroad.
