  1. The Channel 2 piece was great (even though it was a 5 minutes item). Actually Almog did a live network flight and LLHA and the Northern Sector was fully staffed! I could see them on the network (I checked whether they did a demo only . It looked very good! It's a pity that Channel 2 didn't promo our site. We should go for a full Zombit program (20 minutes nett). Again - Kol Hakavod! (and I liked the 777 MFC!). Ciao, Alex
  2. Guys, Cool off - this is VERY OLD news (Feb 2nd, 2000). I wonder WHY AVSIM decided to publish the link again now. Does it have ANYTHING to do with the latest MS statement? Alex
  3. MS PR at "work".
  4. Don't ask me any questions because I will not answer any - just read. The rumour mill is saying that Microsoft will abandon the FS2006 "game" and transform FS into an "enterprise" version and sell it to BIG companies and Department of Defense, basically "forgetting" those who brought FS to what it is today (us). I am not sure that this will happen before or after FS2006 (if ever released) but the news have leaked out and their public relations aer scrambling to contain the potential damage... It might be an announcement at E3, but that'snot sure. That definitely takes the taste out of creating ANYTHING free (or anything at all) for MSFS ;-((. I hope that enough of us will lobby hard enough ot force MS to continue support and new versions of the "game" MSFS. Sorry for the disturbing news... Best, Alex
  5. BlackRaven, Despite the seemingly good intentions behind your move, I have to strongly disagree with it. I do not know how you intend to distribute "Israel V.1" but I strongly DISAGREE with ANY type of "packaging" or "repackaging" of my work for ANY purpose. I state this clearly in the readme file and I ask you to respect my wish. Therefore please remove ANY of my scenery components from ANY package that you intend to put anywhere on the network or CDROM etc. This request covers ANY and ALL of my past and future works - I hope that I will not have to repeat this again. If you really want to help, you may publish instructions on HOW to reach your "ideal configuration" but definitely NOT repackage my work. Besides, you haven't even had the courtesy to ask for permission. Failure to abide to my request and the written copyright statements attached to all my works will result in changing my Freeware policy to a Payware one and request of removal of all my work from all the file repositories. I hope you understand, Alex
  6. Please read the installation instructions carefully. There I say clearly to uninstall ANY other TLV scenery before installing the TLV Photo one. Logically, this isncludes also TLVVFR12. Have fun, Alex
  7. Hi Oren, Great idea. May I suggest that if this works OK, VATIL should organize another similar event and invite people from abroad for an online CVFR Israel tour. The main purpose of Seev and mine when we created Israel sceneries was to make Israel more attractive and use FS2004 as an ambassador of good will. I guess that today Israel is represented quite well in FS2004 and we should use the scenery leverage for bringing people in and actually show: - How small Israel is. - How beautiful Israel is. - How warm Israelis are (WARM - not HOT and not COOL!). It's a small part that VATIL can play at improving the wrong impression people have about Israel abroad. Just a thought. Ciao, Alex
  8. You are of course right. The sat photo is the accurate thing. The "non connecting" synthetic roads (and shores) must be fixed separately - but that's not something I can or will do [-X . Don't worry - when I will release the Photo Real Israel (like in 5 years! :^o ) all these problems will be solved. Meanwhile, have fun! AND THANK YOU ALL FOR THE THOUGHTS! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! Alex
  9. Hi, Just to put everybody's questions to rest. IF you read the "readme" file you can see that I actually RECOMMEND using Seev's landclass. It is fully compatible. The only sceneries you need to disable are any other TLV sceneries containing 3D objects - but KEEP THE LANDCLASS! Have fun, Alex
  10. Hi, The files are up at Avsim and Flightsim.com. I don't know when they will put it up so keep checking. Have lots of fun, but remember the compatibility issues with the landclasses. Meanwhile I am working for a solution. Alex
  11. Hi again. Tel Aviv Photo real will be released on Israel's Independence Day - Happy Birthday Israel! Version 2 covers 56 most significant buildings in Tel Aviv overlaid on an enhanced, multi-seasonal and night 4.8m/pixel satellite photo. To make the low-level flight over Tel Aviv more realistic, I have also created an extremely dense, custom Autogen layout with customized Autogen textures. There are more than 1000 Autogen buildings and trees painstainkingly laid down one-by-one - my hand hurts even when I think of that effort. The result is worth it however, although FS9 sometimes does not display everything that was planned due to internal limitations. Now you can fly at 500' and at 5,000' and have a great Tel Aviv landscape. For best results, you will have to set the Autogen density slider to Extremely Dense - if your PC can take it . Tel Aviv Photoreal VFR 2 currently covers: - The Ramat Gan Business District (9 towers) - The Azrieli Towers (2 towers) - The Shalom Meir Tower - Marganit Twr - Platinum, Medial and Millenium Towers complex (3 towers) - Rubinstein Twr - Elrov Twr - Levinstein Twr - Gan Ha'ir Twr + Rabin Square (1 tower + City Hall) - IBM Building - The Tower - 6 seaside hotels - The Textile Center Complex (8 towers) - Opera House Twr - Isrotel Twr - Twin Towers (Ramat Gan - 2 towers) - Toyota House - Amot Center (3 Towers) - Dizengoff Center (2 towers) - NIP Tower - Tel Aviv Towers (2 residential towers) - Zion Tower - Africa Israel Tower - Ramat Gan Soccer Stadium - Bloomfield Soccer Stadium - Yad Eliahu Basketball Hall ========================================== I hope that you'll enjoy it as much as you've been enjoying the previous releases. Alex
  12. Hi, First sorry to come back so late but I have work to do ;-) Several things: 1. You do not have to reply or write to me in English. The reason I am using English is becaue I don't have Hebrew on my computer (and I won't anytime soon), so please feel free to use Hebrew. 2. I tried to post several "teaser shots" but I found it too fussy to upload them on another server and link to them. This is not for me - its too time-consuming. But don't worry, the SRTM mesh will be up tomorrow afternoon. I will make the announcement - only 12 hours left . 3. LTWT vs. Mesh. Oren has said it all. 4. Frame Rates - no impact, but you do need some 512MB RAM . 5. Coverage: 120% Israel. That means 100% Israel + small "entries" into some of our neighbors territories. Significantly into the Sinai peninsula and Lebanon, bu much less into Jordan and Syria. Please don't get me into politics . 6. Sadly the "layer" trick does NOT work. Relocating the mesh above the lanclass scenery does not solve the problem. The lanclass mesh modifications must be fixed at the lanclass level ;-(. I hope I covered all the issues you raised here. Thank you for listening. Layla Tov, Alex

    SRTM Israel Mesh

Hi all, I am happy to let you all know that the Israel SRTM mesh (90m resolution) will be released sometime during this weekend. This mesh is the most accurate non-commercial, non-classified mesh of Israel and is a result of one long month of processing and testing. There are some minor problems though. The SRTM mesh will not work correctly with Seev's landclass North and Jerusalem due to some local manual mesh modifications made by the developer. There is nothing I or you can do to avoid these anomalies (except of course modify the landclass mesh by yourself) so you'll have to live with it "as is". The problems are on Mount Carmel, some points around the Kineret, and Jerusalem city. The rest of the Israel has no problems at all. I hope you'll all enjoy the new Israeli scenery release. Regards, Alex
  14. Hi, I will release a new TLV scenery very soon. Some of the news is that it will have specific Autogen which will cover also the region surrounding Sde Dov. Basically this says that the buildings that you say are bothering you can now be removed. Ask the developer how that can be done. More about the scenery has been said at the group meeting at LLHA he last weekend ;-) Alex
  15. I will try to attend but I did not find any mention of the HOUR when we meet. I really hope that the meeting will start well before 14:00 because I will have to leave for Yoqneam at 15:00 the latest... So at what HOUR is the meeting? Alex
  16. I can't believe it! What kind of person can do so much harm?! I really hope that he/she will be caught and punished accordingly - or better yet - let's hope that he/she will need to be hospitalized very soon - and for a long period... with no pardon! Anyway - I am amazed by the move Ilan! The simulator thing was great, but a WHOLE PLANE???? THAT is unbelievable! What do you intend to do with it? IFR simulation? How do you intend to activate the gauges? Do you intend to have some sort of visual system added to the plane? Many questions :-) Best, Alex
  17. Still ??? but thanks. Alex
  18. Excuse my ignorance but... what movie? What am I missing??? Alex
  19. Sorry to hear this Mickey. I ran outof ideas but you might find some sugestions at AVC's support forum at: http://www.cjserio.com/vc/phpBB2/viewfo ... 52d491565a As you will see, you are not the only one having problems. It seems that I am among the lucky ones Best, Alex
  20. Sorry that you have problems w/ it but it works. I've just used it today :-). This version does not do anything new except extend the "life" to Feb 15th. You should read carefully the installation procedure. I also recommend performing a full UNINSTALL fo the previous version before installing the new one since this is NOT an upgrade - it is a full install. Alex
  21. There is a new AVC version which expires on February 15. You can get it at: http://www.cjserio.com/vc/download.php Have fun, Alex
  22. Hi Mike, My AFCAD is not at AVSIM - it is at flightsim.com. At the time I wasn't posting at AVSIM. Bst, Alex
  23. Hi Gal, I guess that you made a slight identity mistake. The guy who is reporting AFCAD problems is called "Mike" . He also writes in English so maybe that's why you assumed it was me and didn't notice his signature. I am among those who try to give Mike a solution Best, Alex
  24. From one of the forums: "Generally, ATC directs the AI aircraft to the cloest runway when more than one runway is available for takeoff. For example, KMCO has three (four on 12/25/03) parallel North/South runways with the terminals between the left pair and the right (pair). If an aircraft is parked on the East side of the airport, ATC will direct the traffic to the East runways. Aircraft parked on the West side are directed to the West runways. For landing, ATC directs the AI aircraft to land on the runway closest to their approach path when more than one runway is available for landing. NorthEast/SouthEast use the East runways and NorthWest/SouthWest use the West runways. AFCAD doesn't directly effect this arrangement other than if a Runway would be closed for Takeoffs/Landings. _________________ W. Sieffert " I would add - "also depending on wind". Alex
  25. Hi, I am not sure which AFCAD file you use for LLBG. I use my file (you can find it at www.flightsim.com) and I t/o from 30 and 26 depending on winds. Did you try to go on "User defined weather" and change the wind heading to 260? I have no solution for the "low-flying" AI approaches on 30... Best, Alex
