  1. yep, look at Avsim for all the versions (including patches) for the YAK-18T You'll blow up the engine if you don't operate it correctly, blow up the Tyres if you land too hard or too heavy or won't be able to operate various systems if you lose pneumatic pressure..
  2. depends how much you pay for the "Hechsher"
  5. For a plane flying at ~ 200Km/h this "force" will equal the weight of a grain of dust... About half milinewton.
  6. Imagine a plane is sitting on a massive conveyor belt, as wide and as long as a runway. The conveyor belt is designed to exactly match the speed of the wheels, moving in the opposite direction. Can the plane take off?
  7. Not that I'm aware of. It requires some extensive graphic work. One needs to add a portion to the bitmap. In the case of the 767 a "strip" of the right panel was "stitched" to the main one so it includes the entire MCP and whatever is below it. I guess it may be easier to do with the 747 as it has a right panel one can use in a similar fashion.

Especially for Ran Apparently someone had made a widesceen adaptation. Don't know if it's just a "stretched" panel or a portion had been added on the right (which should be the proper way of doing it) , but you can give it a try.. http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=120319
  9. No, this is not PT's 154B2. The SSW project had been there for ages (since 2004 actually) and if you ask me, it's unlikely to ever see the light of day. Funny though, you can still "preorder" it   Then again, I can tell you a story or two of their antics. So no surprise there...
  10. Their forums ARE active and you'll get detailed answers to any question other than "when?" As I said, those are serious people but projects don't always come to fruition even when you have the right crew and the best intentions. Russian developers lead the way in freeware products ("Project Tupolev" isn't the only one, there's also "SCS" with an outstanding TU 134 and Tu 124, "Samdim design" ", O. Frolov's dash-8 is by far the best freeware turboprop panel and many more) However, most russian payware groups do leave a lot to be desired and so far had released half-baked products (CS, igfly, SSW) with some appalling support. Hopefully airsimmer will redeem all that.
  11. Things happen and it's not uncommon for a project to gather dust for long periods or be scraped altogether. The problem with AXP is not so much the development but the conduct of their publishers. The timing of their hype campaign to be more precise. Now it backfired, tarnishing the image of both RXP and Lou Betti As things stand now, the only viable Airbus project is that by "Airsimmer" They are certainly making the right sounds so far. Knowing a couple of them I can attest that they are a serious bunch. Time will tell if they can deliver on their "no false promises" promise... As for FSX, well, the tendency of "giraffization" of MSFS started even before FS9... It seems that the early developers were indeed aviation enthusiasts. Much of the "core" revolved around true physical parameters and concepts. With each new version, those were either dumbed down or removed altogether shifting the focus from flight simulation to shiny graphics, animation of boats, elephants, giraffes and what not. Flight simulation itself was left behind or at best, remained unchanged.

    FS planner Fixes

Since the issue came up in another thread I managed to come across the following site http://uk.geocities.com/fs9.airac@btinternet.com/ Perhaps someone would find it useful
  13. Which was my point A matter of expectations, we're not in disagreement here, thus there's no "right" or "wrong" in this case The trick is knowing what to expect and what not
  14. Etai, It's al a matter of expectations. If you buy a Ferrari and discover a Ford engine under the bonnet then some people are going to get disappointed, even if Ford engines are not too bad.
  15. They are probably both right. Magnetic headings change with time, and with it the runways designation
  16. Not good enough My duplicates may be different than yours - depending on the scenery or AFCADs we have installed. What I couldn't understand is how they're selling different AIRAC databases. It doesn't take a genius to write a very simple program to convert, say, FSNav database to PMDG/LDS. It's basic text manipulation. You can't distribute it, but no one can stop you from doing it for yourself. TPs are more tricky in that regard - but not undoable.
  17. Since I don't have this AC, just a question: Is there no database at all or is the DB generated by running a scan? As for Navigraph and the default DB..well, the default DB isn't a single text file as is the case with most addons but the various NavAids are encoded in numerous GBL files scattered throughout the sims folders. Even if you compile them all into one bgl, how will you get rid of the duplicates?
  18. For what I understand, "they" are a single person which may explain the pace . I truly doubt the capability of a single developer to produce an entire package of a high quality commercial product. If it was just one component, say a panel, then it's doable but the crowds will cry blue murder if there's no VC or the wiper blades don't have the right tone.
  19. I was under the impression this project was dead, is it not so? ממשיכים אותו על אש קטנה wonder how long would it take till it boils..
  20. I was under the impression this project was dead, is it not so?
  21. It won't! CLS don't focus on programming, just on external modelling. To be fair, they don't pertain to their panels as being high end
  22. I believe the demo version is available, not 100% sure either - I never used it myself...
  23. You're wrong They stopped selling it though this doesn't turn it into freeware (nor abandonware)
  24. AFAIK VOR-A is an "airport" rather than a runway approach i.e you may not arrive aligned , in which case you'll need to turn and fly the pattern VOR-C by the same principle refers to circling if memory serves me right.
