!Lockheed Martin - Prepar3D; previously Microsoft Flight Simulator X http://www.prepar3d.com is the direct replacement to the discontinued Microsoft Flight Simulator !code now owned and developed by Lockheed Martin; under the name Prepar3D im still playing around with this concept the first step, update's default world scenery aka base scenery ...this includes updated default terrain mesh, roads, airport etc i have to say, this is experimental target audience are advance users maybe we can all cooperate and figure out a hybrid version of FSX which includes P3D updates merged into default FSX sort of best of both worlds

i recently discovered i can swap the Scenery folder in FSX root; with the one from P3D root i also replaced my main sceney.cfg with the one from P3D FSX loaded, no edits and no issues so far

i didn't install FSG EUR i believe Moshe has experience with FSG EU not sure if he is running GDEM yet, he might have a better idea about this i do have FSG US and i disabled all their LM libraries this resolved all ORBX and many other mesh issues !IMO, yes disable FSG LM use at least SRTM90 or better yet the latest ASTER GDEM v2

as predicted i'd suggest you place LLOV over LLET for now

you can spot the difference easily with these pics at the top is SRTM90 v1, at the bottom Aster GDEM v2 both showing Masada mountain ridge and few up ahead you clearly see SRTM90 v1 detail compared to Aster GDEM v2 which delivers a much more refinement to the terrain SRTM 90 v1 Aster GDEM v2

YVW Liaz, My Pleasure the new Mesh aside from being new will result in a much greater detail throughout the land this will contribute to a deeper 3D experience and just in general a more accurate terrain then SRTM (SRTM is a lower resolution sampling to Alt 90m (looking top down you can see the differences very easily with the pics i posted download them to your desktop, then scroll through them by pairs you will instantly notice the differences between the new GDEM and older SRTM when you flip the same pic back and forth (GDEM v2 Samples to 30m Alt (again looking top down you can read more about the technical aspects of GDEM by hitting the link under the quote ive been sitting on these files for some time new i didn't had the time/need to convert them till last night i got pissed at SRTM90 making me do so many correction to the red Sea terrain to correct it i figured it will take me less time to get the GDEM converted than to repair Red Sea terrain as for compatibility with exciting scenery and objects, should be seamless expect minimal if any ill effects

i suggest verifying the file names inside your texture folder and match to the ones you see inside dropbox see my previous post here, for more info

heads up guys !EILAT_X_OBJLIB.bgl is the culprit causing black objects with ISP's LLET

this doesnt fix the runway issue i'm having with this scenery package pics in my post above ?am i the only one getting this

there is no ground underneath the runway ends and the event sign partially showinng due to elevation issue

pay attention guys, dropbox has some sort of an issue going on files gets corrupted and file names truncated, i have noticed this past 48hours im sure they are aware and are taking care of it, just a heads up for you all
