  1. The russian "project Tupolev" have released their latest version of the tu -154B You can find it here: http://tu154.avsim.ru/files.html (click on the link which says 12MB) or use this link: http://tu154.avsim.ru/model/pt_tu154b2_v9.0.exe there is a BASIC tutorial in english here: http://tu154.avsim.ru/index.html This is by no means a "jump in and fly it " aircraft. I suggest you study WELL the tutorial before even loading the plane. Pros: 1) it is the most elaborate and complex rendition of an analogue panel to date 2) almost every button and switch on the real thing is modelled 3) an introduction to a different philosophy in cockpit srtucture, navigation , and flying 4) VERY frame-rate friendly 5) an absolute treat for those who want to learn the essentials of navigation - magnetic variation, gyro drift, wind corrections etc. Can't fly the plane without prior knowledge of these a "must have" for those who are a bit bored with a computer flying a computer variants or pressing two buttons and than going to sleep..... Now for the cons... 1) Basically it's a design for FS2002.............. HOWEVER, it is fully functional withein FS9 with this slamm exception: There is a drift in the latter stages of an ILS approach, so about 4-5 miles from touchdown you'll need to disconnect the AP and land it manualy This will be corrected in the next version Also for the Navigation calculator to work you'll need to make a small ammendment in the registry. I'm willing to explain how to do it if anyone asks. 2) The english tutorial covers the navigation instrumentation only briefly Since it is very complex it needs a chapter of its own HOWEVER, a new tutorial to cover these aspects of the panel is in the making 3) It's a russian plane....hence all the inscriptions are in cyrillics You'll need to learn their abc or at least be able to memorise each button and function If you can manage cyrillic letters(or like in my case greek , then you have a headstart Overall I find it to be one of the best panels ever. one with a VERY very steep learning curve After playng with it for the last couple of days I think I managed to crack most of its features so if you might have any questions I might be able to give some answers Hope you'll like it as much as I do //Mike

  3. Golan These are not standard addons but rather an integral part of any given scenery. If you are creating your own scenery then there are api macros available on all major sites but they can't be used independently and are only to be integrated in a custom scenery. There are some sceneries which have such features. LKPR has frequency controlled sleeves, the norway airports bundle has docking systems, moving service vehicles and even escalators are moving at ENGM. Surely there are many more but I can't remember all of them now. Anyway, bottom line: If you are a scenery designer , look up those api macros. If you're not, look up 3rd party sceneries with these features //Mike
  4. Yes, perhaps also a good opportunity to cover some issues which are not frequently discussed like CWS, FPV radial interception through POS and the likes.
  5. Hmm strange I just got into thir website - didn't encounter any of the problens you described. Are you sure you're not attempting to bypass any of their copyright msgs? Try: http://www.geardown.de/vacc-sag/ Than "charts" followed byICAO , Fir or whatever. Works for me //Mike
  6. Oren_IAL4 has answered the questions, but I can just recommend the new tutorial published by Tim Metzger. it is available at avsim and covers just about every aspect of flying this addon. //Mike
  7. Not if you're flying GA //Mike
  8. Anything wrog with the SID/STAR available at navdata? //Mike
  9. 1 Sorry for the double post 2 also try reading the following thread: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az= ... &mode=full
  10. Golan Vnav disconnection can occur due to several reasons, generally it happens when there is some disagreement between the nav profile as entered into the FMC and the aicrafts' actual position/situation. This is why I asked you to be more specific as to when this happens to YOU. There may be several possible scenarios. 1. on descent: because the FMC and VNAV don't have protection against overspeed limits. so before your descent check the DES page and make sure your speed isn't very high. 2.If you still have your cruise altitude set in the MCP, then the FMC will display a "Check MCP Alt" error and disconnect VNAV mode, leaving you in ALT HOLD mode 3. Check your profile!!! vnav will disconnect if it is asked to perform too steep a climb or descent, for example climb from FL100 to FL180 over four miles distance..... 4. also VNAV mode is terminated by any one of the following: - selecting another pitch mode - glideslope capture - reaching end of LNAV route - transition of glideslpoe intercept waypoint if G/S is armed - crosstrack deviation exceeds twice the RNP value during PTH descent for an active leg with a database verticle angle and LNAV not engaged - if the airplane altitude is more than 200 feet below MCP altitude and the autoflight system is not in altitude acquire. Jumbo7 My appologies to you, but neither my system nor its user are capable of writing in hebrew.... I often find myself browsing through the dictionary just to be able to read some of the posts. I'm afraid writing something coherent is just beyond my capabilities at the moment. of course one can ask someone to translate, on the rare occasion I actually do say something of value.... Golan Again, can you please describe the EXACT situation when your vnav dissconects so hopefuly we might try to sort this out For the time being, engage ALT HOLD, set your altitude and reengage vnav. This should work if you have not deviated too much from the profile Best regards //Mike

  12. Golan, Do you get a "vnav disconnect" message in your FMC scretchpad? could you be more percise as to the circumstances at which you lost vertical navigation? Thanx //Mike
  13. Hi Alex Downloaded your file, and a very nice one it is! I'll keep it!! However, I did try adjusting the wind to 260 at 8 but same as before, departures and landing (right pattern) on runway 30. Strange... //Mike
  14. !You are right it's there now Thanx
  15. errr....dead link....
  16. Gal, Alex Thank you for the replies! Alex: I'm using an Afcad made by Chanan Epstein(couldn't find yours, BTW) wind 16Kn at exactly 260....aircraft still depart from 30. I'm using 0.51LLBG so I have made a search at Avsim both for LLBG and lawrence but came up only with the file I mentioned, if there's another Afcad for that scenery I'd love to give it a try. Gal: I actually keep my Afcads in several folders. I do this to prevent duplicate entries for the same airport as people tend to use more than one naming convention for their Afcads. So I have a folder for addons and other custom files and other folders where I place stock releases (PAIs, UTs etc). Oh, yes, I do restart after any ammendment... During the beta phase , there was someone who claimed to have suceeded in activating two non-parallel runways by creating a "star" of tiny, closed runways at 5 deg intervals. Thus an array of "parallel" runways is formed (FS accepts 5 deg difference as parallel) where the real ones are left open while the mock "star" is closed for traffic. Sounds neat, yet I'm still to see this implemented. Anyway, I'm still at sq1 as I can't even open 26 for departures.... Thanks again for your help!!! "Mike"
  17. Gal, I wish it was that simple... For some reason FS insists on using 12/30 When you try to close both 12 and 30 for takeoff in an attempt to force AI to depart from 26, FS will just ignore the "closed" flag and send all AI to runway 12 for the takeoff Try to close 30 for landing and no aicraft will land at all...... It seems that FS9 handles dual runways only if they are parallel, FS2k2 afcads were far more flexible in that respect, or am I missing here something......? //Mike

  19. Hi Is there any way to make rwy 26 active for takeoff? I know it's open on the Afcad, yet I have NEVER heard ATC direct departing aircaraft to that runway (or arrivals for that matter). in FS2K2 one could fiddle with the length of the runway but I'm not sure if that's possible in fs9 without actually changing the scenery Also, did anyone notice that some AI aircraft go through the hills as they approach Rwy 30. This tends to result in a strange behaviour when they eventually land. Anyone with a clue? Thanx //Mike
  20. the "non official" pages will give you planty of repaints which you'll need to install manualy + assign flightplans (those too are available either at PAI or MRAI
  21. err, if you can just provide a link for this tupolev.... Thanx
  22. 1) Sure, afcad files are available for default scenery as well as addons You'll probably find what you are looking for if you search avsim, flightsim, priject AI or any other major site. Afcads should be installed in exactly the same manner you would install scenery, that is, you would have to create a scenery folder, and activate it through FS scenery library (just as you would with normal scenery) I suggest you nake two or more such folders, one for default scenery, and another with a higher priority(higher level) for addon scenery. This will solve the problem of duplicate afcads as many developers use more than one convention for nomenclature. 2) No, there is no need for one, just download the afcad file and drop it into the appropriate folder as described above Hope that helps, Sorry for using english, but I'm afraid that with my hebrew we wouldn't get too far.... I'm getting better at it though
  23. Oh, didn't realise these lights were not bimaps... ok, so here's another one: Is there any way to reduce the size or intensity of the bulbs on lamp poles I did try changing the size of runway lights through FS9.cfg as I thought they use the same bmp or effect, but that didn''t make any difference It's not that I'm nite-picking, these bulbs tend to be a real frame hog - too dear a price for the effect Thanx again //Mike P.S Alex, Your Scenery is truely excellent, the view from LLSD 21 is VERY impressive!!
  24. Just a quisk one, Does anybody know how to dim the overly emphasized (IMO) yellow lights that you get on highways at night? I'm not sure but I think they also reduce performance Thanx Mike
  25. Yes, that's the gauge. It also has another part called: ILH_TCAS!Transponder This is the part that operates the TCAS screen. Note that you'll need to use both right and left mouse buttons to move the switches clockwise or counterclockwise. These switches will allow you to change the radius of coverage, RA, TA modes among other If you were refering to grounf traffic, then the answer is no. The TCAS will only show you traffic in the air. Hope that was of any help. Again, if you want to see it implemented , try the DC9 I mentioned before It's a lovely panel paired with an excellent flight dynamics file
