  1. FYI The 777 will have a fancy visual model but a very BASIC panel. its a "feelthere" design. .So don't expect too much from there. Even if you are a big fan of those visual models, there are already a couple of very good FREEWARE models out there Personaly, its sad to see that everything and everyone are turning to payware - many times it has no justification //Michael
  2. I meant with FSP //Michael
  3. Oren, its not just the Tupolev. I know as a FACT that the new PMDG is modeled this way(with all our antagonism to their marketing methods, the have a bunch of VERY serious people for developers) and if I'm not mistaken the DF727. I suppose there are a few others as well, although I don't really know. I don't see why they can't add an option to disable that payload thing. I didn't say its bad, I just pointed at what I see as a drawback and yes, it does add an entertainment value //Michael PS this is a purely informative question, - did you notice any difference in AC behaviour with various loads?
  4. It has one major drawback! one of its features is is passanger loading. unfortunately there is no way to disable that feature. why disable? because it will screw up any good flight model which is out there - so far, neither myself nor any better experts could find a workaround. If you are using the default models, this is not an issue. The defaults (and most other models - even payware) use an "idealized" stabilization system that has a range of 40(!) degrees. What it means, is that your CoG can be in Honolulu and the plane will still be flyable. (as a sidenote, this excessive range is also the reason why the default autopilit uss the trim and not the elevators to control pitch. embarrassingly.enough, the LDS 767 does it too) Anyway, the bottom line is, that it can't be used with many models - in particular- the better ones! So, like you saidit will not screw up the realism - only as long as you use an unrealistic model //Michael
  5. These days its gonna be a bit hard...
  6. which is no surprise! http://744.hoppie.nl/forum.cgi/read/4883
  7. The runway BTW is 24L. an AC DC9er had a similar crush several years ago. Judging by the pics, and its a mere speculation, it may be a case of tailstrike.
  8. BTW, its not just CBs, the visibllity is virtually zero.
  9. The plane had overshot the runway by 200 m. lHow ironic, I posted it several hours ago.... http://www.vatil.org/vatil/board/viewto ... 2&start=30
  10. that will be 0830 here...I bet there will be another spike in the number of hits with all the ppl coming back from work. I'm on the other hand , more interested in viewing their forum.... //Michael
  11. I think the bar was set by Frolovs team for the Dash-8, 60$ US for the basic version, if I'm not mistaken. It ended up being a huge flop. A shame really, I was looking forward for that one. Again the policy of waiting to hear of OTHER peoples experience had payd off. I guess I'll wait and see what comes out of it, the price is a definite turnoff though. For the time being I have more than enough to keep me busy with the documentation for the Tu134 beta... Best //Michael P.S If someone is interested, try to fly in or out of Toronto right now. There's a nice little thunderstorm with temperatures of 33 celsius, its tropical Canada, I'm telling you
  12. ofcourse! never doubted it for a moment, morover, I'm 100% with you on that one... but I guess they'll keep doing this as long as 99.9% of the people keep biting that bait... //Michael
  13. well, they are a commercial company, and I guess its only natural for them to try and promote the sales of their product..... I have made a rule for myself to wait a couple of days and see what's going on on the forums - it can save a lot of grief. does anyone doubt the following scenario: 1) 747 is released - PMDG is the best!!! 2) bugs show up - PMDG is crap!!! what did I pay for???? patch!!! we want a patch!!!!! 3) SU1 is released - -Thank you, thank you, - - you are the best!!!! 4(.......... //Michael
  14. Hi, Project tupolev releases the "Groza" weather radar right-click, and "save target as...for the following link http://www.protu-154.com/files/groza.rar Add the folowing lines in the panel config windowx=Groza weather radar ................ ............... [main panel] gaugexx=groza_154_1_rc!Logic, 0,0,1,1 ................. .............. ................ [Window x] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=425,435 window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0 visible=0 ident=12500 render_3d_window=0 window_size= 0.394, 0.478 window_pos= 0.100, 0.000 gauge00=groza_154_1_rc!ICU, 0,0,425, 435 There is NO NEED for FSUIPC! this is a part of the upcoming TU-154M, currently under developement, though you can use it for any panel. Mind you, the radar is of a certain era - and is simulated accordingly , so no colourful blobs or other pyrotechnics. enjoy! //Michael
  15. Hi, what exactly do you wish to translate? I can do it for you, if you wish.... if its the text in the link, then the online translator did a reasonable (if a bit funny sometimes) job in conveying the main idea. I could provide you with a more accurate translation, if it would serve any purpose //Michael
  16. Omri, I understand its revolutionary and will "change FS aviation" to quote your banner.... You don't need to get into the details if you don't wish to, but I'd like to know WHAT is it? (is it relevant at all for those who don't fly online???)
  17. Hmm...an interesting statement. - what exactly do you mean? ok, to the point - Ilan & co. I'm really surprised at the way you keep falling into that trap time and time again. If you feel that someone is trolling, there's a simple rule to that - Don't feed the trolls! bite your tongue, ignore it, and those threads will have a much shorter lifespan. IMHO, no point in trying to put out flames with gasoline. my 2 cents (Canadian).. ) //Michael
  18. @ Opherben Ofer, could you send me that file, of provide a link please? Thanx //Michael
  19. Btw Oren, did you experience any CTDs or anomalies in the leg change logic? //Michael *edit* the latest update - 19/07/05 fixed: CTDs when in VOR/NDB page a mistake in calculating the coordinates for user wayponts is now corrected part 2 http://www.protu-154.com/forum/download.php?id=3940 part 1 http://www.protu-154.com/forum/download.php?id=3941 //Michael
  20. Hi Oren Thanks for the suggestion, we'll contact T. Yingling and we'll see what can be done. The format of the PIC database is somewhat tricky, but that can be managed. the problem is, that the file available over at navdata contains only 84 airports. or an I overlooking sonething? I'm more inclined towards the PSS DB as it seems to be the most comprehensive, more than 1500 APs but I may be missing here something - perhaps I'm wrong to be impressed with that number. as for your questins: 1) if you can get the external waypoints (those that come from the FsNav intersection database), then you have the latest version 2) דאטהבייס מקיף של שדות קטנים what do you mean by? the airport/ airfield, VOR and NDB database is attained by analysing the scenery files, so whatever is in the scenery - should be available for the gauge. I just checked and could easily count at least 16 airfields in Israel (and probably skipped a few or did you have something else in mind? (3 Airspace boundries are not drawn by the real thing either, what you do get is aa warning advisory . This is NOT implemented in the current version, and to be honost , is not in the planning either - but due to the nature of this project, its not out of the question to have it done sometime in the future. Currently what's implemented are the following parts of the manual for the real thing (it s available on Bandix/King website): 2.4 3.2 3.4 3.5 3.7 3.8 3.9 3.11 (except 3.11.6-3.11.9) 4 5.4.4 5.4.5 5.9 As a sidenote - my russian is far (and I mean realy far) from perfection... those online translators can make miricles, ias a matter of fact, the original manual for the Tu-154 was mainly based on them.... Thanks again for the suggestion - I'll make sure to contact T.Yingling. ! Best regards //Michael
  21. Hi, For an ongoing developement of a GPS gauge, we are examining various freely available databases. The idea is, ofcourse to have one with as many airports as possible. Currently we are contemplating the use of the FsNav database abd that of the PSS products. is anyone familiar with some other DB we might be missing? thanx, //Michael
  22. My mistake, I didn't read it right - see my second post.....
  23. yeah, I just wasn't paying attention - I thought it was for the exact same plane model. the 757 merge sounds interesting - did someone try it? any 757 with good dynamics out there? //Michael
