ha5mvo replied to Idan Traub's topic in ראשי / General
a most ambitious project. Not sure how many truely understand the complexity behind it. For aerosoft this most definetly is a frogleap from sceneries and medium complexity addon to an entire platform. Personaly I'm not so sure they are up to it but time will tell. Either way, any new simulator on the market will have zero compatibility with any of the microsoft sims. -
I just don't think there's a correlation between a developer, the number of products they release and their quality. There's a given number of quality addons, lets keep it at that. Why should it matter whether a given developer has other products or not?
-
Whenever a page changes it fades out then in to the new one. Perhaps there's a flag for it but in the default state the effect is on. Also, perhaps its only on my rig but the automatic login doesn't seem to work. Overall, no big issues
-
Hi, Congrat's on the nice polished new look. Two suggestions if I may: 1) can you make the fade in fade out effect optional? some may find it a bit annoying 2) can you make links open in a new browser? best regards

??

err... I don't understand the question then. IMHO FPV and AOAi have absolutely nothing in common...

]only vertical?? No slip/skid indication?

I'm afraid it's not such a black or white situation. How much will you keep liking doing the exact same thing again and again? Would you like it if you'll have to do it not at your leisure but whenever you are told to, or when circumstances force it upon you? How much of an effect will the compensation you get for your effort have on your liking or disliking your job? What would you need to do to get a promotion? what will such a promotion mean and what's the likelihood of getting it? As people had pointed out, what personal toll may such a job take? Behind EVERY job, even the most glitzy and "glamourous" there's a thick layer of gray, technical and dull effort - it's just inevitable. From that position, the neighbours grass tends to look greener, well..at least till one sets foot on that grass , that is... One should always keep that in mind

one meter =3.28 feet......

emm..I stand corrected..not whenever I wish, but whenever I wish AND have some extra cash to spare..which tends to reduce the frequency.. I agree, but other than scenery (paragraph a) FSX offers no advantage over FS9. In terms of the plane itself, there's no added value. As you say, it's a matter of taste. I hardly ever make any "sightseeing" flights, considering this FSX doesn't make the cut for me. Either way, I think there's no doubt that at best FSX can serve only as an extra; an addition to FS9. It most certainly can't replace it altogether and this is unprecedented throughout FS history.

FSX :bad-words: Give me three good reasons בא נתחיל בזה למשל: http://www.vatil.org/vatil/board/viewtopic.php?t=22506 Yes, it has a far better resolution and I'll even help you with the second one - it's vertical air movement simulation are much better than what you'll get in FS9 that tends to "go on rails" thus it feels much closer to the real thing...however...I fail to think of a third reason... from my own perspective, if I wanted to fly a c150 or a c172 I could get into one any time...into the real thing , that is.. I prefer to use FS for the type of planes I'll never get to go into, let alone fly. For such planes, FSX offers very little, yet takes away much. I believe it's safe to assume that most simmers do not fire up the sim in order to enjoy the scenery but rather to have some challenge in operating a complex system - for those, there's very little merit in FSX to put it mildly. Even with VFR the optios are limited, not due to its lack of potential but because of an acute shortage of coverage (read landclass) FSX may be somewhat better than FS9 only if you're using a "low and slow" plane AND you have a good landclass for your flight area. Is that reason enough to bother with it? Maybe some will find it is, I personally am not sold on it

Did I misunderstand, or are they really charging 50$ for just a visual model + FDE??!!

The Developers publish it through "Digital Aviation" their website won't contain too much, but there's a screenshot section on their forum so you might get a better impression: http://digital-aviation.de/forum/viewfo ... 8f716acd82 there are a couple of clips and some feature examples in the stickies, so you can get an impression on how it looks like. feature list is here: http://www.digital-aviation.de/forum/vi ... =46&t=3172 and the purchase is through Flight one, for 50 bucks US - not outrageous at all.

Has been out for a little while now, since it wasn't mentioned - I'll pick the glove on this one. This one is clearly an upper echelon addon for FS, perfectly suited for those (like myself) who don't have the time or the will to sit for hours locked at cruise phase on a transatlantic. It's range and typical flights take up 1-1.5 hour sessions. No, you're unlikely to see it in LLBG or slap an ElAL skin on it - I guess some find this important though it obviously limits them to a Boering 7[fill blank here]7 Like most modern jets it's highly automated, which makes it relatively easy to operate. Pre- flight procedures are relatively shot for that reason. The system modelling is quite comprehensive and there's very little that's left out. Among others, the system include, a fully functional WXR, terrain display as well as an IRS, TCAS, an (almost) fully functional FMS etc. It also has a multicrew feature and some nice touches including a virtual FO and an immersive soundset. A well polished product overall. The most impressive attribute on this model, has actually very little to do with the systems. Namely it's the frames. I have never seen an addon of parallel complexity that performs so well. Even with all features on, it runs only a few frames behind the default lear or 737 still providing a very smooth display. On the downside - it has no VC at this point. The developer promises it would be available in the future but knowing how things work in addon development, if you find the VC to be a must - I suggest you wait. Personally I couldn't care less about VCs (as a matter of fact I always remove them) but I know they are very much in fashion nowadays. There are also some small glitches that are to be addressed in a service pack. Nothing too major though.

nothing secret about it... Skai is a compilation of various freeware Ai models (AIA, EVAI etc) with literally thousands of models and flightplans. More comprehensive than any other payware/freeware offering. The thing is, that whoever made the compilation probably never asked for the models' makers for any permission to use them and just downloaded them from the net - so it's a grey area..depends on how you look at it, technically it can be viewed as piracy. At the time there was a website for Skai traffic from which you could download this package. I do not know if the site is still there (among others, sustaining such a site with many heavy download can pile up to a significant figure in terms of costs).

Bar, he's looking for an addon for FSX if I'm not mistaken (or at least that's what the links show) - skai won't work on FSX
