  1. I'm afraid there's no solution. The sid/star database is made on named points rather than coordinates. when you have two points with the same name, the program sometimes selects the wrong one. On the other hand, why not just end the plan where the RTAR begins, and follow it using the charts?
  2. You're absolutely correct! Hence I was careful to mention BEARING (and obviously not radials, as you say - an NDB has none) As to what's a VOR REALLY...I'm afraid this question will open a thread as long as this one
  3. Roman, You're clinging to straws. Planes equiped with a DME transceiver don't exist (in an IFR context), even if they do, then those are more rare than the dodo bird . Give the folks who gave those letter designation some credit, do you really think that they'll come up with a special designation for a virtually non-existant configuration? Opher I was just bringing up a theoretical speculation, nowhere did I say that ADFs can replace VORs, though they can be a make-shift substitute if the need arises (say your SID VOR is u/s) if my memory serves me correctly, the (CAA-mandated) accuracy of a VOR is +/- 2 degrees, on an NDB it's +/- 5 degrees.

  5. מייקרוסופט מדברים על שיפור של 20% בביצועים עם SP1. בתכלס, זה אומר שאם כרגע אתה מקבל נניח 12 FPS אז אחרי SP1 תקבל 14-15. שיפור? בהחלט! מהפיכה? - לא ממש. מה גם, שכרגע מלבד אינסוף קבצים של "פוטוריאליסטיק צ'ילה" אין יותר מדי תוספים רציניים שעובדים עם FSX ככה שהעשרים אחוז המובטחים יבלעו בשמחה ע"י התוסף הראשון שיצא...וחזרנו ל square one.
  6. אגב, יונתן. תיאוריטית (ומעשית) ניתן לנווט על פי NDB ו- bearing. אם המרחקים לא גדולים מדי זה צריך להיות מספיק מדויק על מנת לא לחטוף violation. מעניין האם גם במקרה כזה מקלט VOR נכנס ל MEL (שוב, תיאורטית, זה עומד בדרישות).

  8. Roman, you misunderstood Of course there is, nobody claimed otherwise - all that's been said is that a VOR receiver is part of the Minimum equipment list - hence will always be there, those are the regulations
  9. נדמה לי שאתה לא טועה מה שכן, ב777 ישנה אפשרות לעבור לשליטה ידנית במקרה חירום. אני לא לגמרי משוכנע שזה גם המצב באירבאס.

  11. אם כבר חדשים, לא חבל לשלוח אותם להוציא עשרות דולרים (מאות שקלים) על payware? יש המון דגמים חימיים ששוים באיכותם, וחלקם אף עולים בהרבה על רוב הpayware הקיים.
  12. Not always the case. The sim may attempt to read files that are geographically very remote from your current location. Nobody knows exactly why, but for whatever reason it does it. The kamchatka mesh that eliminates Hungary is an example of just that...
  13. Leo, Here's the trick - Change the property of the taxiway to....taxiway....instead of apron route. It seems to have resolved the issue for me at least. I don't claim by any means to be an expert on AFCADs, so I suggest you make a backup if you wish to try and modify it yourself What other issues did you hae with the AFCAD, btw? As for going online...eh..not for me, besides, never said "Malta yok" to resolve a problem

    LLBG AFCAD and AI

    Don't know if anyone noticed, but it seems the AFCAD file for LLBG2006 doesn't like the foreign AI parked at J If you wait long enough (or accelerate time x4) you might notice that AI planes get "stuck" either at the orange S points. or on the taxiways leading to the J parking. Five minutes later they simply disappear (which is what AI do when they get stuck) 1) Can someone confirm this? 2) Is there any other AFCAD file for LLBG 2006 available somewhere?
  15. its "stuck" there because the city is also "stuck" there....it might sound surprising, but there's a correletion between the two....
  16. Its a good opportunity to acknowledge one of the more immersive models developed for FS. The Maddog had seen continuous development over several years now, and seem to have developed into a well rounded product. One of my personal favourites for sure!! (Must have a weak spot for T-tails). In terms of system modelling it covers most bases, and the current version takes it a step further with features like a "black box" (DFDR) , icing simulation and more! A thing to keep in mind though, is that it lacks a VC. Albeit promised in the future, there is no timeframe as to how near of far that "future" might be. So whoever finds VCs to be of high importance might opt to wait. What keeps me personally from getting it at this point is a fairly long thread with people complaining about poor frames, so I prefer to use the Maddog 2004 for the time being untill the dust settles and I can get a clearer picture of the state of the new version.

If mine has the walk and the squawk I don't mind it being an ugly duckling as long as it does not have the properties of a sparrow There is no problem finding reasonable to good visual models out there, the problem is that for the better part they have no decent panel (system modelling) to go with it, and are based on the overly stable and simplistic default FDE (thats why many FS planes feel like they are "going on rails)
  18. It all depends on what you're looking for... IMO, the FDE and panel are the essense, the external model is no more than a "nice to have"

  20. This happens since the license for the gauge had expired. Untill a patch is issued, you'll indeed be forced to reset by switching it off and on. Doing it one time should be enough though......

  23. Of course they do! but neither Captain nor physician operate in an "ideal" environment and have to take into account non-professional (mostly economical) considerations
