I find this strange, I mean, releasing a beta two weeks prior to the "official" release and AFTER it had already been released in several countries. would they really make any changes as a consequence of those "beta reports"?
-
Well, if it can show better performance, or features that were not available on the previous one - it might convince people like myself to give a second though about getting it now....
-
its a demo - not a beta, seems its a post beta release
-
Initial reports are very good, btw The trick , so I read, is to reduce the autogen to minimum

Now, Biological age sounds more familiar, and is directly or indirectly related to the proliferating "anti-aging" industry, as you were quite accurate to mention. One must distinguish preventative medicine from "age reversal" though. while studying the aging process might be not such a bad idea, there are many myths and lies associated with anti-aging . As a matter of fact , some of the available products may actually lead to long term damage, very much in the same manner as the performance enhancing drugs used by some athlets.

to be able to do that (move faster than light, that is) , you must live in a four dimentional world. In such a world, flight or transportation are completely irrelevant. Neither are dates for that matter
-
if you want to know the effect of speed on various parameters , you just need to multiply by the so-called "relative factor" which is: 1/ Sqrt(1- V^2/c^2) as v approaches c the denominator will approach zero as well....

A small correction. Bone resorption is one of the POOREST markers for determining the age as it can be related to numerous disease states. usualy the lenght of the bones and the degree of fusion in the small caps at the end of long bones (epiphysis) give much better information, especially when dealing with a younger person. as for time travel - Opher , you're confused for all the right reasons! the same theory that relates time to speed, claims that the speed of light can not be exceeded! so, one can't really go faster than light. By the way, the faster you go, the larger your mass becomes - so when approaching the speed of light the mass will also approach infinity - now try moving that! *edit* sorry Opher, should have read your post more carefully, thought you were talking about age datarmination.... To be honost, I'm not that familiar with the application of "Physiological age" , at least not for humans.....

ha5mvo replied to David Rosenfeld's topic in ראשי / General
David, the blurries were there for as long as I can remember (which dates back to FS98). From what I can understand , a solution has been found actually - which is not reflected in the demo or beta, as it was added later. the down side to it, is that it would cost you more frames. any way you look at it, there's no way to stretch that blanket - either way something will need to be compromised, either performance or visual quality, which, as a matter of fact makes perfect sense. -

Did not understand what scared you, the blurries or the frame rates? -
Where on earth is the edit button???!!! sorry for the size of this one folks....
-
if its not too far from your route, I'd recommend a little hop to CYBA - Banff in the province of Alberta (just on the border with BC)

The plane took off from the wrong (too short) runway.

can't you get CFS or some other combat sim online??

Loxodrome and the Great Circle: If you maintain a specific heading (generally magnetic, but it could be true as well) while flying long distance you will follow a specific course over Earths surface called loxodrome. It is not a straight line at all (and if you fly long enough you will end up at the magnetic North Pole with a spiral). By definition a loxodrome is intersecting each meridian by the same angle. If you want to fly from point P1 to point P2 then you should calculate and figure out what would be the correct loxodrome and heading, but once it is done, navigation is quite simple: just keep that (magnetic) course and you will end up at point P2. If you want to fly from P1 to P2 on the shortest route you have to fly on a great circle course (orthodrome). Great circle is a circle defined by the intersection of the surface of the Earth and any plane that passes through the center of the Earth. There are infinite number of great circles on Earth - the Equator and all the meridians are specific examples for that. We are interested in a single great circle; the one that goes through P1 and P2. Calculation of this great circle is rather simple using spherical trigonometry, but navigating is much more difficult. Great circles are intersecting the meridians by variable angles because of meridian convergence. You have to start with a specific course angle from P1, but along the course you have to change the heading to remain on the great circle. This is practically impossible to do using a magnetic compass. Great Circle is the shortest route on a globe. Earth is not a perfect globe. Its form is called geoid and on a geoid the shortest route is called geodesic and it is rather difficult to calculate. Anyhow the difference between the geodesic and the great circle is negligible .

As a follow up question, may I ask.: if you maintain a constant heading - magnetic, let's say, and keep flying indefinitely, where will you end up ?

A new version of the KLN-90B is available : http://www.protu-154.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5071 For those who are not familiar with the gauge, please read through the related thread. the manual for the real instrument is included in the base package. Those of you who have it, please follow the instructions on the second post from "mikealpha" This being a major update - some glitches are possible - please let me know if you come across any..

קיבלתי אותו ליד בקופסת מתכת חביבה, שבועיים לאחר יציאתו or you can simply order it online.....

on the RealAir website one can also find an FDE for the 172 by Rob Young - comes highly recommended
-
Not only its not that bad...its actually the way it is supposed to be...
-
Just to illustrate the principle: suppose your plane starts at the true north pole, flies true south till the equator (distance x), turns and flies along the equator (distance y) and finaly turns to true north and covers distance x again - completing 3 sides Where will it end up?
-

No, not one as such ( the documentation is not great - my fault), but there are some sticky posts in the english forum (the link is in my first post) with checklists /screenshots and plenty of other info, including the NAS-1 navigation system

He wasn't
